Overnight Conferences Sleeping Rooms - American Plan

Rates can be quoted to include sleeping room, meals, coffee/tea service as specified, and one main conference room based on size of the group. Student groups receive hot cocoa in the morning and soft drinks in the afternoon in lieu of coffee/tea.

Dormitory style rooms with two twin beds are available as well as a limited number of rooms with private bath.

Accommodations

Overnight accommodations are available in dormitory style rooms for a maximum of 150 people depending on the use of the rooms as singles, doubles, triples. A limited number of rooms are available with private bath, shower and air conditioning. Bed linens and towels are provided. Colombiere has a number of conference rooms to suit the needs of various groups. All include dry erase boards or chalkboards and some include refrigerators and pianos. All may be arranged with conference tables and comfortable armchairs. Audiovisual equipment including TV/ VCR's and Overhead Projectors and screens are also available. We are also equipped for teleconferencing. Day only seminars and workshops may be accommodated.

 

A large, comfortable, beautifully decorated lobby greets guests. The largest conference room holds 80 comfortably. The auditorium has theater style seating for 120, a full sound system and a raised stage. Additional seating may be added for larger groups. Coffee/gourmet tea service is provided in the conference areas. Arrangements can be made for additional snacks and beverages.

 

Although Colombiere is not licensed to serve alcoholic beverages, groups may bring their own for social functions with prior permission.

 

 

Building Access

Exterior doors open at 6:00am. Doors are locked at 10:00pm.

 

Showers & Lavatories

A few rooms are available with private bathrooms. All single and double rooms are equipped with a sink. Community lavatories and showers/tubs are located in various areas of the facility.

 

 

 

First Aid/Medical Emergencies

Clarkston Ambulatory Care Center (5885 M-15, Clarkston, 248-625-2273) is open 24 hours. If transportation is needed, contact your group coordinator. CVS Pharmacy (7091 Dixie Hwy) and Rite Aid (5789 M-15) are the nearest pharmacies. Locations are shown on the enclosed map. Colombiere staff is not trained to administer emergency first aid. The group coordinator is responsible for contacting a doctor, etc. Report emergencies to the receptionist on duty.

 

Dress

Dress is comfortable and casual unless dictated otherwise by the group coordinator. During warm weather, tank tops, halter-tops, beachwear is not permitted in the dining room or lobby. Walking shorts are acceptable. Appropriate footwear is necessary in the dining room.

 

Mail

Outgoing mail goes out at 9:00 am and may be left with the receptionist.

 

Keys

Room keys are issued to you on arrival, when you sign in, by your group coordinator. When leaving, guests are asked to drop the key in the key box by the front lobby receptionist or leave them in their rooms. There is a $2.00 charge to the group account for failure to return a key.

 

Messages

Messages are left with the receptionist located in the lobby. In case of an emergency, every attempt will be made to locate guests based on the information supplied on your sign-in sheet. In some cases guests are paged by name using the overhead speaker system. After 8:00 pm only emergency calls will be put through.

 

Phones

Phone: (248) 625-5611 Fax: (248) 620-2433 There are no phones in individual sleeping rooms. A pay phone is located on the 3rd floor near the stairs at the fountain. House phones are located in all corridors and in or near all conference rooms and can be used to call the operator for emergencies or to answer a page.

 

Photocopies & Faxes

Contact any Conference Center staff member or the receptionist in the lobby area. Copies are $.10 each and faxes are $1.00 per page.

 

Refreshments & Breaks

These can be provided by prior arrangement. Coffee, gourmet tea, cocoa, and ice water are served during your conference in the main conference room. Soft drink and candy vending machines are located on the 3rd floor near the elevator.

 

Restricted Areas

Insight Recovery Center, Inc., a rehabilitation center for substance abusers, is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of our West Wing. The Jesuit Community resides on the 4th, 5th and 6th floors of the East Wing. These areas are off limits. You are requested to respect their privacy and use the central elevator or the stairs across from the elevator.

 

Smoking

Colombiere Center is a nonsmoking environment. The designated smoking area is located on the 3rd floor, around the corner from the elevator in the corridor with the vending machines, or outside the building at the entrances. A fee will be charged for smoking in rooms.

 

Staffing

Colombiere Conference Center staff is available Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 PM Should questions or problems arise at other times, please contact the receptionist in the main lobby. Receptionist hours are 8:00 am - 8:30 PM Monday - Friday; 9:30 am - 6:00 PM Saturday and Sunday. Should an emergency occur when staff is not available, please dial the operator on the house phones and ask that maintenance be paged.

 

Quiet Time

Excessive noise is prohibited in all common areas, which includes the corridors, dining room and inner lobby. Quiet time is observed after 11:00 PM You are requested to have consideration for the other guests who may be using the facility.
